Sometimes inspiration comes from the most interesting places. When the idea about the Village came up, I turned to online images for inspiration. I've included two of these images at the top of the pictures below because they were helpful in coming up with whimsical buildings that my robots could inhabit. I always begin with rough sketches to get my imagination working but then the clay takes over.
Steampunk Village: This was the first "large scale" project I ever attempted and it definitely wet my whistle for more elaborate future pieces. I am not an engineer -- but I sometimes wished I was when I was in the middle of making Steampunk Village a reality.
